Senior Java Software Engineer
Our partner is a global financial services company with a strong technology hub in Budapest. They are looking for a Senior Java Software Engineer to join their growing development team, where innovation, collaboration, and modern technology meet large-scale, high-impact projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong and self-driven developer who enjoys solving complex challenges and building scalable, cloud-native systems in a modern environment.
What you’ll do
- Design, implement, and test cloud-native Java applications
- Participate in code reviews and architecture discussions
- Collaborate with business and program management teams to deliver high-quality solutions on time
- Work closely with global teams (including US and offshore locations)
- Support production systems and ensure smooth issue resolution
- Mentor junior developers and share best practices across the team
What we’re looking for
- 7+ years of Java development experience
- Strong Core Java (11/17/21) knowledge
- Experience with microservice architecture and Spring Boot
- Hands-on experience with Kafka, relational databases, and JPA/Hibernate
- Solid understanding of containerization (Docker, Podman) and Kubernetes as a target development platform
- Proficiency with Git, Maven or Gradle
- Familiarity with performance tuning, troubleshooting, and automation scripting (Bash/Python)
- Full software development lifecycle experience and Agile mindset
- Good communication skills and a self-motivated, proactive attitude
- Fluent Hungarian language knowledge
