Principal NLP Scientist
Our international partner is looking for a Principal NLP Scientist to lead the design and evolution of advanced Natural Language Processing and Large Language Model solutions used in real-world business applications.
This is a senior expert role for someone who enjoys combining research with hands-on engineering. You will play a key role in developing intelligent language-based systems that improve automation, information extraction, semantic understanding, and AI-driven decision making across enterprise platforms.
What You'll Be Working On
- Design and develop production-ready NLP and LLM solutions
- Build intelligent systems for text classification, named entity recognition, semantic search, document understanding, and information extraction
- Evaluate, fine-tune, and optimize modern language models
- Design retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) solutions and semantic retrieval architectures
- Work with structured and unstructured business data to improve AI-assisted workflows
- Define model evaluation methodologies, success metrics, and validation standards
- Collaborate with software engineers, data engineers, product managers, and annotation teams throughout the entire development lifecycle
- Research emerging AI technologies and translate promising approaches into practical business solutions
What We're Looking For
- PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computational Linguistics, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related discipline
- 5+ years of professional experience in AI, Machine Learning, or Natural Language Processing
- At least 5 years of practical experience delivering NLP solutions in production environments
- Strong expertise in Transformer architectures, embeddings, attention mechanisms, fine-tuning, and modern deep learning techniques
- Hands-on experience with Large Language Models, prompt engineering, model evaluation, and RAG-based applications
- Solid knowledge of NLP techniques including text classification, information extraction, semantic similarity, text generation, and NER
- Excellent Python programming skills
- Strong experience with PyTorch and Hugging Face Transformers
- Experience with data preparation, annotation workflows, and model performance evaluation
- Familiarity with SQL and cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
- Excellent English communication skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with multilingual NLP applications
- Knowledge of GraphRAG, knowledge graphs, vector databases, and semantic search technologies
- Experience with MLOps, Docker, CI/CD, and model monitoring
- Familiarity with enterprise software integration, including .NET environments
- Publications, patents, or notable contributions within AI or NLP
